ECFC January 2010 Newsletter

President's Corner

Dear Emerald City Membership:

Welcome to 2010, and the start of state cup play for our older boys, PDL/WYS season for our older girls, and PDL Winter season for our younger girls and boys (followed by state cup play). In other words, there is a lot going on in a lot of different venues!  And for those younger siblings and friends of our families, we are very pleased to recommend a player clinic run by one of our talented coaches! David Smith (F96 Green and M93 White) will be offering a six week clinic beginning February 21stand targeted for 8, 9 and 10 year olds. Please check it out – there is an announcement on our website (www.emeraldcityfc.org) that provides information and a link to registration.

But so much for the fun stuff –

An Update on the  Zachery Lystedt Law by Dr. Scott Laker

A reminder that tonight, Sunday, January 10th at 7:00pm Dr. Scott Laker, a colleague of  Dr. Stanley Herring who co-authored the Lystedt Law, will be giving a talk for parents and players on the Zachery Lystedt Law. The talk will take place at the Sand Point Education Center. With the vigorous competition of State Cup fast approaching it is important that we all learn how to recognize the signs of a concussion and know what to do if we think a player may have one. Please join us. All are Welcome. Sand Point Education Center is located at 6208 NE 60th Avenue.

College Program
