What does it mean for our players?
| Current U-11 to U-13 Emerald City FC Players |
- Emerald City FC would not be allowed to field teams in these age groups starting in Spring 2010.. Players would have the option of trying out for “Seattle United” teams, US Club Soccer affiliated teams or clubs, or clubs outside of Seattle.
- The current “Seattle United” operating plan (v 4) envisions 2 citywide premier teams and 4 or more regional select teams. Emerald City currently fields up to 4 teams playing in PDL and district per age and gender.
- Under current PDL (Player Development League) rules both “Seattle United” and Emerald City FC teams would be ineligible to participate in that league.
- “Seattle United” seeks to hire qualified volunteer and paid coaches. Current Emerald City FC coaches and coaching directors have been encouraged to apply.
