M'96 White plays in Championship game at Big Foot in Snohomish
After making it to the semi-finals of the Snohomish United's Big Foot tournament as the second place finisher in Bracket A of the Boys U13 Silver division, the ECFC boys played a strong game against GRFC Red and made it through to the finals. The ECFC M'96 White team played a very evenly-matched final against a very determined Lake Hills FC Diablo. Tied 1-1 in regulation, the boys went to a shootout. After rotating through all 11 players, they started through the line-up again, and it wasn't until the 14th kick that eventually Lake Hills prevailed in the championship game. What an amazing effort by all players and coach Kevin McGibbon. Congratulations all for a great tournament outing!

Our M'93 Green team is competing in the US Club Soccer’s 2009 National Cup VIII Finals in Virginia Beach. They played their first game today (July 24) against the Rockford Raptors from Illinois. It was a hard fought game played in 90 degree plus heat and high humidity. Aaron Kovars scored a great goal after receiving the ball on the edge of the box with his back to goal, he turned and beat 2 defenders before rifling an unstoppable shot into the keepers left hand corner. That made it 1-0. The team created 3 or 4 other great chances to score but were denied by the good saves of the Raptor's keeper. ECFC came out ahead 1-0.

F'97 was asked to put together a team on July 8 for tournament in Kent that started on the 10th due to a team dropping out. After a mad scramble and a mind boggling matrix of who could play on what day, a varying group of girls from the Green and White teams played their way into the final where they played wonderful soccer and lost 3-1 with Eastside scoring a couple of those long range high over shorter keeper bombs. Congrats girls and the three sets of coaches who supported them!

ECFC F'93 Blue tried the competition at Snohomish and found it tough but the opponents started to all look the same... reason, ECFC was the only non Snohomish Team in their bracket!
