Emerald City FC Elite Academy (EA) – Program Overview

Emerald City FC Elite Academy is the pinnacle of our competitive pathway for U13 to U19 boys. Our program is built for players who want to push their limits — athletes who thrive in a demanding environment, embrace professionalism, and aspire to reach the next level. EA teams train and compete in top local, regional, and national platforms, giving players a stage worthy of their ambition.

The goal is simple: Elevate every player. Through a unified coaching philosophy, intentional development, and meaningful competition, ECFC EA creates a pathway where potential becomes performance. Ready to get started? Register for tryouts.

1. Coaching and development environment

ECFC EA teams are led by a highly qualified, collaborative coaching staff, working within a shared development framework. Players train under coaches holding USSF, USC, and UEFA licenses, ensuring a consistent, intentional approach across all age groups.

Our EA program emphasizes:

  • Alignment between coaches, directors, and age groups
  • Clear standards and expectations across all EA teams
  • A long‑term, player‑centered development model focused on individual growth

2. Training schedule

All ECFC EA teams meet three times per week. Most sessions will be on-field trainings, but meetings may also include video analysis, classroom learning, team meetings, and team-building or leadership activities.

3. Season overview and EA events/tournaments

August will feature Team Camp as well as pre-season sessions and games. The EA League season runs September to February for U15 to U19 teams, and September to May for U13 to U14 teams. ECFC EA teams will generally play on the same dates and against the same club, with minimal standalone reschedules.

All ECFC EA teams will attend the EA Winter Event, taking place Dec. 5–9, 2026, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, and possibly another Elite Academy Event, which may also require out-of-town travel. Teams that qualify will play in the EA National Championships in St. Louis, Missouri, in June 2027.

4. EA program cost

ECFC’s EA program costs $2,950 per year, plus Adidas uniform kit, team fees, and travel.

ECFC has intentionally positioned our EA tuition below several other local EA programs — but not because we are cutting corners. Our standards, expectations, and developmental demands remain uncompromising. The goal is to deliver one of the strongest, most professional player experiences in the division, without creating unnecessary financial barriers for families. We have deliberately kept costs as accessible as possible while still investing in high‑level coaching, quality facilities, video analysis, and a unified development framework. ECFC also offers financial assistance to ensure that any motivated player can pursue the EA pathway.

5. How ECFC will raise the standard

  • Clear coaching framework and expectations for all EA staff, with weekly staff meetings
  • Required collaboration between players, coaches, and directors
  • All league matches recorded; seasonal video analysis
  • Data‑driven planning for training blocks
  • Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for players, aligned with ECFC’s development model and EA standards
  • Continued investment in coach education and licensing, plus retaining and recruiting coaches aligned with our long‑term vision
  • Strengthening ECFC’s professional identity across all programs

6. The competition

The Elite Academy League continues to expand nationally, with new clubs joining through the spring. Final membership for the 2026–27 season has yet to be confirmed, but clubs competing in EA’s Pacific Northwest Division during the 2025–26 season included:

  • Sting Soccer Club (Idaho)
  • Valencia CF Academy Seattle
  • BVB International Academy Washington
  • Athletico Rojo Washington
  • Mount Rainier FC
  • Western WA Surf Elite Central and South
  • Seattle Celtic
  • Washington East Surf Columbia Basin
  • Athletico Azul Washington
  • Sparta Tacoma
  • Albion SC Hawaii (all matches played in Washington)

7. Talent identification, exposure and pathways

Participation in the Elite Academy provides expanded visibility through the EA Talent ID Program, opening additional pathways for player recognition and advancement. EA competition also increases college exposure, giving players more opportunities to be evaluated by college coaches at national events, showcases, and through league scouting networks.

Our commitment is clear:

To provide the highest‑quality environment we can, support families responsibly, and give every ECFC player the opportunity to grow, compete, and be seen — on and off the field.
