Emerald City FC’s Girls’ Program: New Director Amanda Huppert

Emerald City FC is pleased to announce a new program and new role, focused on girls.
From Director of Coaching John Hamel:
As part of our Club commitment to grow and evolve in positive ways in the local, state, and national landscapes of soccer, we are happy to announce that we will be adding a new role to our leadership team: Girls’ Program Director. This role will help oversee the quality and experience of our various female teams across age groups, guide our work around ACL injury prevention, and help recruit female players and coaches. This role will also support our work to treat each of our players as a whole person, not just a soccer player, and will support the growth of our girls at all levels, from beginners and post-rec players, all the way to those aiming to play soccer in college.
I am especially excited to announce that filling this role will be Amanda Huppert, former Emerald City coach, player and parent. As some of you know, Amanda served as a coach and fitness director for many years, and was also a Club parent for several years. Amanda and her family moved to Texas in 2024, but she has remained part of the ECFC family from a distance, handling our social media and newsletter.
Amanda will be returning in June to take on the role of Girls’ Program Director. She will also coach two teams, work with our fitness coach Elston Cloy in our fitness program, and continue working to manage our social media.
Please see below for a statement from Amanda, and join me in welcoming her back to the Emerald City community!
From Amanda Huppert:
“I have been associated with Emerald City FC for the past 30 years: first as a player, then as a coach, and then as a parent. ECFC is a family-oriented club that embodies my personal motto: Football, Family, Excellence. Its player-centric environment aligns with my core values, and I look forward to ushering in this new era at the Club.
As the new Girls’ Program Director, I am committed to setting high standards for all current and future female players regarding their warm-up, training, and recovery. We will focus on the whole athlete, providing tools for achieving success, both on and off the field. While I look forward to bolstering the female side of the Club and welcoming new members, I am most excited about fostering mentorship between our older and younger teams. This club is special because of its mission and its members, and I couldn’t be happier to call it home again. Go ECFC!”
