ECFC Select Soccer Tryouts
Tryout information and instructions
Emerald City FC is thrilled to announce its Elite Academy (EA) League program for the upcoming 2026–27 season. This significant step demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest level of competition and development for our players, coaches, and families.
The Club is holding tryouts for U16 to U19 teams at both the EA and Washington Premier League (WPL) levels; players can choose to try out for either or both teams (indicate on the registration form).
- Emerald City EA teams will practice three times per week and play in the Elite Academy League Pacific Northwest Conference. EA teams may play in local and out-of-town tournaments. Read more about the Club’s EA program.
- Emerald City WPL teams are our Green, White and Blue teams. These teams will practice two times per week and play in the Washington Premier League, the Club’s current league, at levels ranging from National Premier League to Classic to Copa. WPL teams may play in local or regional tournaments, as determined at the team level.
For players who will be U15s next season (birthdates Aug. 1, 2011–July 31, 2012), the Club is holding EA ID sessions, where players can experience the EA level of play in advance of formal tryouts taking place later in the spring.
Alongside the addition of the Club’s EA program, Emerald city is changing how age groups are formed, as are clubs and leagues across the country. Teams will be formed grouping birthdates from August through July, changing from the current calendar-year system.
Tryouts are free for all levels and all age groups.

Financial Aid Program
We are committed to helping our players reach their potential. In keeping with this objective, we actively seek donations and engage in fundraising activities to maintain a scholarship fund. We use these resources to provide a limited number of need-based scholarships to talented players each season. If a player is selected at pre-season tryouts and their family simply cannot afford select soccer, please inquire with our club treasurer about scholarship requirements and availability, treasurer@emeraldcityfc.org.
