you can find information about the Washington Cup dates here and on the ECFC calendar.
—————————- MARKETING PUSH – TV AND RADIO
We are proud of ECFC and want to continue to grow the club and make it even better! We are working
hard to get the word out about Emerald City FC in variety of ways, and along these lines we have an
exciting announcement. Leading up to the Spring tryouts, we will be running a TV ad and Radio ad. The
30-second TV ad will run on Q13/JoeTV during the away Sounders games on 4/8 and 4/14. The 30-
second radio ad will run on KJR-AM from 3/27 through 4/23. You can listen to a sneak peek of the radio
ad here. Be sure to join our club Facebook group to get a sneak peek of the TV ad before it runs, and tell
your friends about it!
—————————- DEV PROGRAM MAY-JUNE SESSION
The U8 to U10 Dev program has a Mid-May/June Training season coming soon that is open for
registration now. This is a five week program starting May 15th with training twice a week that allows
kids to get a feel for premier-level play, learn more in depth skills, and develop confidence with the ball.
The season culminates in a jamboree. Our club is working hard to find ways to increase the numbers of
young players in our Dev program, especially on the girl’s side, so we would very much encourage
current Dev families to help spread the word! Register here for the May/June session.
—————————- ECFC SUMMER CAMP AT CAMP WASKOWITZ
ECFC is pleased to announce that we have a new summer residence camp offering this year. We have
partnered with Peter Fewing camps to offer an ECFC Camp at Camp Waskowitz, July 6-9, 2017! Camp
Waskowitz is a historic landmark located on the Snoqualmie River near North Bend. It’s 372-acre
location will play host to the ECFC Summer Residence Camp hosted by Peter Fewing Camps. Camp
Waskowitz has many adventures awaiting your kids. Campers will receive excellent soccer coaching
with Peter Fewing coaches together with a few guest ECFC coaches, and skill building training from
college and professional ranked staff as well as enjoying nature hikes and other outdoor activities
throughout their stay. Friendships, improved soccer skills and lots of fun memories will begin at this
camp. We hope you take advantage of this great new opportunity. Talk to your teammates and let’s
make this a great new tradition for the club! You can learn more and register HERE. Space is limited so
reserve your space today!
—————————- FIELD SCHEDULING UPDATE
Field scheduling with Seattle Parks continues to be a challenge for all clubs that use these public parks.
Thanks to Tracey Yee, Craig Sexton, John Hamel, and David Smith, we have been able to expand our field
options recently with some new fields outside of Seattle Parks including UW, Rainier Vista Boys & Girls
Club, and Wallace Field at SPU. The Board is continuing to look for ways to improve the club’s access to
fields. We appreciate the feedback we’ve received from families and coaches and we’re doing our best
to respond! Feel free to send additional feedback and questions.
—————————- TEAMSNAP CLUB-WIDE
In order to further improve and streamline communication and club management, ECFC has recently
decided to consolidate online team management with a club-wide TeamSnap agreement. Almost of our
teams should have migrated their existing TeamSnap accounts under our ECFC umbrella. This has a
number of advantages, including the ability for a central resource to update schedule and send
communications club-wide. We plan to use TeamSnap for these monthly newsletter communications,
so if your various family emails are not included in TeamSnap you should update your account in
TeamSnap. Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback.
—————————- ECFC AWARDS NIGHT 4/30 – SAVE THE DATE
Each year ECFC hosts an end of season celebration and awards night to recognize and commemorate
the previous year. Please mark your calendars for Sunday evening, April 30th. We will share more
details soon. Every club member is welcome and encouraged to attend!
—————————- ECFC CLUB PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
We believe ECFC is a different and special soccer club and we are proud to make our philosophy clear to
current and prospective members. John Hamel and David Smith have provided a new statement, which
you can read in full here. Please share this with your friends in the soccer community as we want to get
the word out and you are the best way to do that!
