Payment Options
Option 1: Payment in full
Online registration must be completed prior to a player practicing with the Club and within 7 days of the team formation meeting. Payment in full is due by May 31. Pay by Zelle or paper check to avoid credit card processing fees.
Option 2: Payment plan
Online registration must be completed prior to a player practicing with the Club and within 7 days of the team formation meeting. An initial payment of $300 is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance is to be paid in 6 equal payments, which will process every 30 days from the date of registration for 6 successive months. Credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee. Returned or failed transactions are subject to a $30 fee per failed transaction.
Option 3: Apply for financial aid/scholarship
Online registration must be completed prior to a player practicing with the Club and within 7 days of the team formation meeting. An initial payment of $250 following registration and a completed financial aid application are required in order to be considered for financial aid. We are committed to helping our players reach their potential. The Club actively seeks donations and sponsorships and engages in fundraising activities to maintain a scholarship fund. We use these resources to provide a limited number of need-based scholarships each season. If a player is selected at spring tryouts and their family cannot afford select soccer, please inquire with our club treasurer about scholarship requirements and availability, treasurer@emeraldcityfc.org.

Additional costs to expect
Uniform kit:
Emerald City players purchase a new uniform kit every two years. New uniforms were issued last in 2024 so 2026 is a new-kit year. Our Adidas uniforms are supplied by Soccer.com.
The required uniform kit consists of 8 items (two game jerseys, one training jersey, one pair of shorts, two pairs of socks, training jacket, and windbreaker). The cost is approximately $400 and families order directly from Soccer.com once jersey numbers are determined. Players may wear under armour-type layers for games and practices in cold weather, but the outer-most layer must be part of the uniform kit (the training jacket or windbreaker). Additional items such as training pants and a backpack are optional for Green/White/Blue team players and required for EA team players. This uniform kit FAQ offers more information.
Team fees:
Team fees are team-level expenses, primarily for tournament entry fees (typically $800–$1000 per team, per tournament), Veo camera contribution ($400), team donation to the Club’s Bobby Howe Scholarship Fund ($150 or in-kind contribution of equal or greater value), coach travel expenses, and various equipment as needed (team bench, team tent, first aid kit, etc.). The amount per player typically runs about $150 to $225, depending on the tournaments entered and whether the team plays games outside of the Seattle area and therefore incurs coach travel expenses. If teams choose to do a travel tournament, the fees will be significantly higher.
